The Marked Woman Ending Explained
What Happens Throughout the Investigation?
Throughout the investigation, Clara and Anna both try to piece together why the former is being hunted by unknown assailants, although the progress is slow since Clara isn’t able to remember what landed her in the shipping container in the Port of Barcelona. However, Officer Quique Zárate, who had initially worked with Lucia, the person shown right at the beginning of the film, informs them of Clara’s identity and that she’s Lucia’s sister. This gives the case perspective as they summarise that it has something to do with Lucia, since she had also lodged a complaint against Zárate right before she disappeared.

While trying to figure out what happened, they stumble upon evidence that a man called Gaston was somehow involved in the scheme.
Why Was Clara Being Hunted?
We learn towards the end that Clara had hacked Gaston’s devices and cryptocurrency wallet and had figured out that he was into something shady and had kidnapped Lucia. So she changed the password to the wallet, hoping to use it to find her sister. That’s why she was being hunted and initially tortured – they wanted the password to the wallet at any cost.
Was There a Mole in the Police?

There was a mole in the police department, as we see Andres Falcó working with Gaston. He was the one who had asked Lucia to lodge a complaint against Zárate when he got too close to the truth and then aided in abducting Lucia and Clara. In the end, we see him getting shot and killed by Anna while he was trying to threaten Clara to tell him the cryptocurrency wallet password.
How Does the Final Confrontation End?

The final confrontation ends with Falcó shooting Zárate after telling him the truth and then getting shot in turn by Anna. Clara gets away unscratched and finally learning that Lucia has been killed. Meanwhile, Anna, too, accepts her brother’s death as she finally hears his last audio message to him and tries to move on.
What Does the Ending Mean?

The ending showcases both Anna and Clara having moved on after finally bringing the truth out in the open. Both are happy and accepting of what happened and it’s also clear that both are fond of one another thanks to how they helped each other 8 months before. There’s no dialogue, just a knowingly look, highglighting their shared past and a deep, emotional connection that they will forever share. The film, thus, concludes on a hopeful note, wherein it acknowledges the sacrifices that they made together to get to where they are now.
