Lock Upp Season 2 Episode 15 Review

Episode 14’s Task Comes Back to Haunt Everyone

Episode 14’s challenge left Yogesh, Akanksha Chamola and Sufi unsafe after their secret files are exposed. As Varun, Shreya and Shilpa emerge victorious, they are given the responsibility to choose whose secret to expose. While Shreya and Shilpa keep gunning for Yogesh, Varun refuses to expose his friend’s secret, resulting in a push and pull among the three. In the midst of this, in a rather surprising turn, Yogesh asks Varun to choose Chamola, and he will volunteer himself in front of Farah.

When Farah arrives, and he goes along with his plan, she calls him out for plotting this from the start and creating drama, resulting in the contestants not getting lunch that day. In the end, Yogesh does expose his secret involving shoplifting when he was younger, which leaves the others rather disappointed. In a rather hilarious turn, Varun mentions that if he’d known that the secret would be this silly, he wouldn’t have worked hard to create the drama that he did.

Although Yogesh’s plan was silly, it did expose to Chamola that Shreya was okay with exposing her last secret after the stunt she pulled last time. It’s a heartbreaking revelation for her, as even though Sufi was also present with all of his lifelines safe, she still chose her. It highlights the strategic decisions of the different contestants and how, even though they say one thing in front of their face, there’s a lot that they are hiding behind them.

Shreya’s Decision Becomes the Emotional Breaking Point

In a rather surprising turn of events, a midweek Judgement Day leaves everyone on edge as the Controllers and three dependants, including Madhuri, Yogesh and Akanksha Chaudhary, are called in to make a tough decision. Either the Controllers choose their own two Dependants to eliminate, or they choose from the three who are everyone’s Dependants. It’s absolutely devastating as the rest of the house watches in horror as the Controllers decide to save their Dependants and eliminate Madhuri and Akanksha. It’s a devastating revelation for the house, especially since Shreya votes against Madhuri simply because she was trying to be on good terms with everyone else.

This highlights how vindictive and uncompromising Shreya can be as she constantly asks Madhuri to choose between her and the others, without letting Madhuri choose for herself. It leaves the house shocked that she’d make such a decision, considering how Madhuri has been close to Shreya since the first day.

Judgement Day Forces an Impossible Choice

After eliminations, Ritesh brings up another choice: both of them won’t be eliminated, and the two must choose who goes home. Madhuri sacrifices herself for Akanksha as she knows how much the latter wants to be in the show. The two have a tearful goodbye as Akanksha is escorted away to a secret room and Madhuri leaves the show. It’s a remarkably selfless moment that Ritesh also comments on, and Madhuri tells her that she is far from the “manipulator” tag that she has been given; in fact, she was the one who got manipulated from the start.

The thought rings true as we see Madhuri constantly being belittled throughout the episode as she tries to smooth things over with Shreya and is met with disrespect. It’s interesting to note that Shreya constantly asks her not to ruin her game, but doesn’t pay heed to Madhuri’s game or what it might be. Either way, Yogesh and the others clock this and ask Madhuri to not indulge Shreya’s insolence, but she refuses to let go of their friendship. In the end, she is only left backstabbed.

Final Verdict

Episode 15 has been quite emotionally exhausting for the contestants, but at least they now know who has their best interests at heart. In the end, only one person will win the game, but the blatant disrespect and bad behaviour that we see highlighted throughout might open some eyes after this episode. With Akanksha Chaudhary now in the secret room waiting for her next move, it remains to be seen who comes into the house next. Although the internet is abuzz with news about Ruru Thakur and Asim Riaz making their entry and spicing up the dynamic between the trio once again, I can only hope that this isn’t the case, as the Splitsvilla love triangle has become quite old at this point.
