A Shop For Killers Season 2 Ending Explained: A complicated war between Ji-an & Jin-man and Babylon finds its end today, after a lot of blood is shed and things come to a head in this thrilling Korean sequel. After spending the season putting the pieces together about Jin-man and Murthehelp’s past, the season finally brings the confrontation to a deadly finale as the cards are put on the table.
The season has been ongoing since July 22 and has been a slow-burn this time around. While fans of season 1 might be desperate to watch some high-voltage action, the ending doesn’t disappoint in that regard. In the second season, Ji-an finds herself taking on a more active role in Murthehelp alongside Jin-man. What Happens in A Shop for Killers Season 2 Episode 8?
Episode 8 shows a desperate Kusanagi Jin doing everything in her power to stop Jin-man and bring down Murthehelp, hoping to prove herself to her superiors at Babylon. Unfortunately, using others to her own advantage comes at a cost, and Kusanagi eventually finds herself alone and concerned, fighting for her life as everyone abandons her. When the truth about how she used and abused those around her comes to light, no one wants to be associated with her.
Ji-an and Jin-man take this opportunity to infiltrate her hideout, and they come face to face with Chen, Babylon’s head honcho. They agree to a truce, but, unfortunately, Jin arrives and is quickly dealt with by Ji-an. In the aftermath, they blow up their hideouts, hoping for some peace at least for the time being.
The ending, showcasing Jin-man asking Ji-an what their next step is, highlights how Ji-an is now the head of the organisation and even Jin-man considers her to have what it takes to make all the difficult decisions.
Why Does Kusanagi Turn on Her Own People? What Happens to Her in the End?
Kusanagi has always been desperate to get to the top of Babylon, and bringing Murthehelp and Jin-man down was the only way to do so. Thus, as time went on, she grew increasingly more desperate to gain control of the situation and bring down the organisation by hook or crook. Her desperation took her to such an extent that she had Bale kill J, and then she lied to Q that it was Jin-man who did the deed, using Q’s anger for her own benefit.
Unfortunately, the ruse didn’t go on for too long since Ji-an had the recording of J’s death and showed it not just to Q, but to everyone at Babylon, resulting in Jin being pushed into a corner. The ending, thus, sees Jin killed at Ji-an’s hands after she refused to let Jin-man negotiate with Chen, ending her reign of terror and lies for good.
Unfortunately for the series, the ending ends up not having the impact that it deserved. While it made Jin into a formidable enemy, it ended up not mattering since she just seemingly lost her mind and then was shot. She didn’t put up much of a fight or scheme something elaborate. Her defeat didn’t get any room to breathe, and she was tossed aside when the plot didn’t need her anymore.
What Happens to Jin-man and Ji-an?
Jin-man and Ji-an have had a rough relationship after she was exposed to Babylon. While the two have been fighting against an formiddable enemy, it’s interesting to see that their bond has remained strong through it all. While Jin-man has gone through a lot of trouble throughout the season, the ending sees them both alive and well, and they will now seemingly work together to make a better, more peaceful life.
What Happens to Babylon and Murthehelp?
Babylon and Murthehelp agree to a ceasefire, as Jin-man mentions that he won’t need murthehelp is Babylon doesn’t come after them. Moreover, Babylon’s data is still with them; they have something to blackmail the other side. It’s important to note that the ceasefire depends on whether or not data is leaked from the stolen server. However, Ji-an seems to be confident that they will be able to hold up their end of the bargain.
Why is the Ending of A Shop For Killers Season 2 So Abrupt?
The biggest issue with the finale is that it seems to end out of the blue as interesting things start to happen. Murder and mayhem aside, from Q’s arc to that of Jin, the supporting characters seem not to get the ending that they deserved. Q’s ending, especially, comes out of the blue as she decides to walk out, and while there’s grace and depth in her choice to not be controlled by a narrative any longer, the series should’ve expanded on her a bit more. Considering the impact that these characters have had from an antagonist’s point of view, there was more space for exploration.
Is There a ‘A Shop For Killers Season 3’?
While Disney+ has not yet confirmed whether or not there is another season, season 2 seems to have ended the overall story quite well, tying up all loose ends. While another season is always possible, considering Babylon might just decide to go against Murthehelp, or data is accidentally leaked, realistically that doesn’t seem to be the case yet.
