Why were Emilia’s handprints found at the top of the Pleiades Watchtower?

Emilia was in a battle with Volcanica, who oversaw the third trial of the Pleiades Watchtower. However, in the middle of it, she found handprints of many others. What was shocking for her was that she also found her own handprints. This was impossible because it was her first time there, and she wondered whether she had missed parts of her memories of being at the watchtower before. However, Volcanica clears her doubts and addresses her as Satella.

This is not the first time Emilia was called Satella, the witch of envy. There have been theories that Emilia was either a reincarnation or a clone of the witch. It also seemed like Volcanica had much rage for Satella, and that poured over Emilia, who tried to convince him that she was the witch of frost.

How does Emilia’s fight go?

Even though Emilia struggled with Volcanica, she did not have to defeat him entirely. On the contrary, she just had to reach the place where the handprints were and put her hand over it. By doing that, she could ask for anything from Volcanica, and he would have to relent. In the biggest Emilia fashion, she asks for everyone to get along. This does the trick. However, it is Shaula whose condition does not get better.

Did Subaru manage to save Shaula?

Shaula, in her uncontrollable beast form, attacks anyone and everyone without much consideration. Subaru tries his best to talk her into submission, but that doesn’t happen. Julius also comes to fight her, and he overpowers her pretty easily, but that means he could also kill her accidentally. Here, an emotional segment takes place where Subaru acknowledges Shaula’s love for him and decides to save her rather than kill her.

However, that does not happen, at least not in the sense that we would have wanted. After confessing her love for Subaru, Shaula shrinks into a miniature scorpion, and Subaru cries a lot, promising to wait for her return even if it takes hundreds of years.

Does everyone remember Rem?

No, things do not unfold like that because, rather than killing Roy, Julius decides to take him to the capital to extract information from him. On top of that, Rui also comes in front of everyone, and it felt like everything would finally be alright. However, a major twist takes place.

What does Satella do in the end?

Just when Subaru thought nothing could go wrong, Satella comes in front of him and again says she loves him. Weirdly enough, Emilia, who was not in the same place, also realises something was wrong. However, that is when a miracle happens. I would rather not spoil the ending anymore and would definitely ask you to watch this episode.

This episode was truly a massive journey, and the way everything came to an end felt like the perfect conclusion. Those who have been waiting for a particular moment for a long time will finally have a chance to cry, celebrate, and rejoice. Beyond the emotional payoff, the animation was also exceptional throughout the episode, and I enjoyed every second of it. Without a doubt, this was one of the best episodes of the season.
