  • Former news editor and academic Sifiso Mahlangu has been appointed as the new National Spokesperson for the uMkhonto weSizwe (MK) Party.
  • Mahlangu replaces Nhlamulo Ndhlela, who was removed following an unauthorised leadership announcement by the MK Institute.
  • The MK Party leadership highlighted Mahlangu’s extensive media background, urging the public and press to offer him full support.

The uMkhonto weSizwe (MK) Party has announced the immediate appointment of academic and former news editor Sifiso Mahlangu as its new National Spokesperson.

He steps into the role following the removal of Nhlamulo Ndhlela.

Mahlangu, a highly experienced journalist and renowned media personality, was selected to bring invaluable technical and professional insights to the party’s communication strategy.

The national leadership, led by President Jacob Zuma, has urged the media fraternity, members of the MK Party, and the general public to extend their full support to Mahlangu in his new position.

The sudden leadership transition follows an internal dispute involving the MK Institute, which had issued an unauthorised media statement attempting to alter the party’s leadership structure.

In response, the MK Party annulled those decisions, restructured the Institute to report directly to the Secretary General, and installed Mahlangu to steady the party’s public relations.
