Synopsis
During the chaotic period of warlord conflict, an old military medic nicknamed “Old Drunkard” returns to his hometown and takes shelter at Jigu Temple. He rescues a widow named Ru Ling, exposes a conspiracy involving child sacrifice under the guise of a “mountain god ritual” and becomes the temple’s lightkeeper.
He reforms a wayward young man named Dong Sheng, helps him crack a weapons smuggling case, saves a girl named Qiu Ying who was about to be sacrificed, outwits a cult, and rescues patriots.
In the end, the “Old Drunkard” passes away peacefully, and all those he saved go on to join the revolution.
