Witch Hat Atelier Episode 10 Review: As Coco recovers from her illness, both she and Tartah find themselves facing personal struggles. Something that seems impossible to overcome. However, an unexpected moment of cooperation gives them a new sense of hope.

Does Tartah ask Qifrey the question he wanted to ask?

Tartah wanted to ask Qifrey about the bright light that he saw that day. It was apparent that Qifrey would have denied seeing the light or erased his memories. However, before Tartah could ask anything, Qifrey was called by the doctor, who told him about Coco’s condition. The doctor lets Qifrey know that she was suffering from overwork and sleepless nights. This makes Qifrey feel extremely bad as he blames himself for Coco’s condition.

What does Tartah do after leaving the hospital?

After this, Tartah tried to return home by ferry but was denied. This is because the guard tells him that only magic apprentices are allowed to ride the boat, but since Tartah lost his witch hat, he is not allowed. Tartah completely forgets that he actually left the hat in Coco’s hospital room, and he starts searching for it throughout the city.

Does Qifrey stay with Coco?

Qifrey wanted to stay with Coco and observe her situation, but gets called to help out in the city. Somewhere else, a fire breaks out, and the people ask Qifrey to help. Coco also instructs Qifrey to go because, according to her, magic is made to help people. Later, Coco accepted she was scared of staying alone, yet she told Qifrey to leave her side.

Does Tartah come back?

In search of his hat, Tartah comes back and finds it on the floor of Coco’s bed. He also saw that Coco suffered from a fever, and she needed medicine very quickly. As Tartah sees everything in silver colour, he couldn’t realise which medicine actually works. As he has extensive medical knowledge, had he been able to see properly, he could have helped. This single fact makes Tartah despair about his whole situation.

How does Coco help him out?

Coco helped Tartah out with a very simple spell. They work together to create a spell that reverses something to its original form. Tartah felt elated because now he, too, knows how to get past his barriers. Coco effectively gave him a way to do magic, and this fills him with new hope.

Does Coco get better?

Coco gets better after resting. By the end of this episode, Tartah and Coco also become very good friends, and he even promises to make a pen for her. He also tells her that he would cross the river with his own magic to deliver it. Coco answered that she would wait for him. Not only that, but even Coco gets a great idea to help her mother out as well. However, it seems quite a trouble will come in the future episode.

What worked and what did not work?

Honestly, there was very little to dislike about this episode. It was a well-written and satisfying segment. With Coco’s help, Tartah finally begins to discover his own path and purpose. At the same time, Coco finds a genuine lead that could help her mother. Beyond the story itself, the animation and music were exceptional.
