A Love Other Than Yours Episode 3 Review
A Marriage That Feels Like a Bandage
Mi-do agrees to marry Ho, and that sort of saddens me. It is evident that they both have internal conflicts, and after everything they went through, this decision seems like a hasty one. Two grown-ups are simply afraid of being alone.
Even though they’ve spent 10 years, it is evident that sometimes love doesn’t have to end up in marriage. Two people can still love and let go of each other for the best. But here, despite the two bickering and fighting and actually having two different possible love interests, they decide to give their old relationship another try.

That is what makes their relationship frustrating to watch. They keep circling the same problems, hoping that something will change without realising that separating and taking some space might help.
Mi-do Is Losing More Than Just Love
Mi-do clearly understands and even admits that the relationship feels sparkless. She knows that her chemistry with Ho has gone, and they’re simply staying with each other for old times’ sake.
It is not that she hates Ho or is unhappy with him. It is just that they’ve been together for too long and it has become exhausting. Her constant chatter about death and life feeling stale makes us wonder that, beyond the relationship chaos, she is losing herself to her dreams and is feeling hopeless. Amidst such a mental health state, her relationship is another soul killer.

Hopefully, the writers don’t bring a stupid twist and tell us she’s sick with a life-threatening illness because that would be too boring.
The Second Leads Are Shining
Thankfully, the second leads are shining, and we don’t see them both having a romance storyline with each other. The second leads are literally there to be paired with the two main leads, and this feels fresh. Usually, the main leads remain in love and the second leads fall in love with each other. But this time, the main leads are going to be attacked with fresh romance.

With Ho being paired with a lively girl and Mi-do joining hands with a very responsible man, we can clearly see the emotional connections becoming stronger. Especially when he saves her. This proves that sometimes life happens even after a good life ends. Mi-do and Ho were a very good couple, but they’ve become exhausted with each other. They can still let go and find new life with new people. That’s love too.
Complicated Episode
Honestly, the whole series is complicated, but this one is pretty tough. The leads agreeing to marry each other despite their recent breakup feels stupid. In the end, we can clearly see that they both are lowkey anticipating texts from their new love interests.

This series shows that in real life, people do tend to make hasty decisions because they are afraid to end up alone and miserable. I hope this series becomes too relatable by making the main leads end up with the second leads, for it can actually give hope to so many people stuck in relationships. Yep, there is a life after a good life that has become exhausting.
A Love Other Than Yours is at its most interesting when it treats a long-term relationship as something complicated rather than automatically worth saving. Episode 3 leaves us wondering how far Mi-do and Ho will go before they realise they’re making things worse for each other.
