This K-drama trades the fake dating trope for something more ‘Our Sticky Love coded’, where a whole town that looks cosy and harmless on the surface is quietly sitting on the banks of years of secrets.
The single mother in a tiny town gets tangled up with the town’s most awkwardly devoted cop while a killer is off and half the town is hiding something. The protagonists’ chemistry is the kind of one that makes you forget there is a murder mystery running, and the ‘he loves her embarrassingly so much’ energy gets louder.
Strong Woman Do Bong-Soon: The Funny Protector Energy ftw
If you clocked Our Sticky Love premise of Tae-Ha’s entire ‘former gang trying to protect the woman he loves from the past’ energy and pleaded for more of it in your head, this one is for you. This has got the same real danger, but the show wants to make you laugh tone plus a male lead with a little chaotic and a little useless in a very endearing kind of way.

Our Sticky Love works perhaps because it is not really about the lie but about what someone is willing to become to protect a person they love, even when that person does not know they need the protection.
