Agent Kim Reactivated Episode 10 Review: A Satisfying Finale

After 10 episodes of action, comedy and emotional storylines, the most talked-about series comes to an end, giving every character a safe conclusion. The finale episode had its own share of action, emotional reunions and perfect resolutions, proving to us that the series has always been about fathers doing anything to protect their children.

A Finale That Doesn’t Waste Time

The episode begins with Kim and Eung-ryeong fighting off the enemies on their way. We also have other characters have their share of action and other roles in this mission.

We also see an emotional moment when Agent 66 lets Kim go as he realises that the man has been doing everything for his daughter. Instead of becoming another crazy antagonist, the character receives a surprisingly humane conclusion.

Friendship Wins Over Manipulation

We see Han-su and Jin-cheol pushed to an impossible situation. They are both ordered to kill Kim if they want to save their children. The three friends turn against one another inside Ju’s deadly cage and brawl.

Thankfully, the series gives us a super twist. Their brutal fight is revealed to be a well-planned motive to weaken the cage and create a way to escape. They trust each other so much, and this is why this trio has become the series’ most impactful one.

Justice Finally Catches Up

Ju Gang-chan has always survived and come up with petty plans. But finally, we have an end for him. While Ju initially survives the confrontation, his carefully built empire rapidly collapses around him. Investigations into Juhak Construction expose corruption involving influential political figures. All the figures are arrested, leaving him alone and with no power.

Perhaps the most stunning moment comes when Ju is stabbed in front of the media by Golden Teeth. This man has ruined lives, and now he is stabbed to death by someone he thought would be a villain as well. He is, but for you.

Ri Eung-ryeong Receives a Thoughtful Farewell

The finale also handles Eung-ryeong’s story maturely. He isn’t killed, but rather Kim sends him back to North Korea secretly. Additionally, Agent 66 is also allowed to live a normal life, showing that everyone has a chance to change and choose their new path.

These quieter resolutions reinforce that Agent Kim Reactivated has never been interested in portraying every conflict as a battle that ends in death.

The Father-Daughter Bond Remains the Heart of the Series

Min-ji and Kim’s storyline is promising. The fake death prompted by the SMD initially creates a sad farewell before revealing that Kim has survived under a new identity. Their reunion beneath the cherry blossom trees becomes one of the series’ most beautiful moments, symbolising their fresh beginning after all the chasing and running.

Watching them discuss new names, a new home, and a peaceful future is so rewarding. It comforts the viewers after 10 episodes of pure anger and action. The drama wisely avoids unnecessary melodrama, instead allowing simple conversations and quiet smiles.

A Warm Epilogue

Whether it’s Mole Cricket sincerely wishing the pair well, Min-ji politely declining Nam-hoon’s request to stay in touch, or the trio of middle-aged friends laughing while trying on new glasses together, all these scenes give the final touch to the series. Great closure.

The image of the three friends walking down Happiness Street is a particularly meaningful scene, representing their peaceful future for which they fought so hard.

We got everything we needed in episode 10: a closure, great action, emotional send-offs and a plan for the future. While the whole series had some stumbling points here and there, and the political notions lacked a tad bit of depth, it never failed to impress the viewers with its brilliant comedy timing, action and family storyline.

Strong performances from So Ji-sub and the supporting cast make Agent Kim Reactivated one of the year’s most enjoyable action dramas. The ending also cleverly leaves the door open for another adventure. Season 2 won’t hurt, indeed.
