This time, there is a rather interesting change at the top: Virender Sehwag is stepping into the host’s cloak. The former Indian cricketer would be seen hosting the game full of alliances, betrayals, money, power and contestants who may or may not know their lines and limits.

At the heart, Rise & Fall is a reality competition built around one very simple idea: power changes everything. The Indian adaptation is based on the British reality show format created by Studio Lambert. The Indian version is produced by Banijay Asia for Amazon MX Player.
The format divides the contestants into two entirely different worlds: Rulers and Workers.
The Rulers live a luxurious life in the penthouse and occupy positions of power, while the Workers live in a basic basement environment. The positions do not remain fixed: the Workers have the opportunity to rise, while the Rulers have to protect what they have; else they fall.
The show basically takes the ancient human obsession with success and top position and turns it into a reality competition.
When Did Rise & Fall First Premiere?
The first season premiered on September 6, 2025 and spanned 42 days, with episodes released daily. The season featured 16 celebrity contestants from different fields and was hosted by Ashneer Grover. The show was ranked among India’s top OTT shows in the unscripted category.
Therefore, Season 2 was not exactly unexpected.
Who Is Hosting Rise & Fall Season 2?
Virender Sehwag, the former Indian cricketer, is replacing Ashneer Grover, who hosted the first season. This also marks his reality-show debut.
The first look gives a glimpse of Sehwag stepping into the show’s world of power struggles and gameplay.
Sehwag has spent years being known for his straightforward cricketing personality and now gets to sit back and watch 15 people try to outsmart each other while their position keeps changing.

The trailer on MX Player by Prime Video’s YouTube channel shows Shehzaad Poonawala, Swara Bhaskar, Priyanka Chaudhary Chahar, and Karan Patel.
The four are pictured in the trailer in the costumes of Rulers and Workers, giving a sense of the show itself. Virender Sehwag also mentions in the trailer itself that the tables can turn anytime in this tower.
