Bigg Boss 20 Episode 26: Episode 26 of Bigg Boss Hindi opened an entire emotional chest that nobody really intended to touch. Food portions became the latest battlefield inside the house, but the argument was not just about “who gets how much”. For Mahi Vij, the kitchen politics seemed to press on something much older than her journey in Bigg Boss: the feeling of being left out, overlooked and treated as though her wants mattered less than everyone else.
Somewhere between “ghee”, “pakoras”, abusive words, miniatures being removed and contestants being ordered to perform increasingly ridiculous tasks, Bigg Boss Season 20 Episode 26 kept returning to one question: “who gets to feel included in the house?”
Bigg Boss 20 Episode 26: Mahi’s Food Fight Was Never Really “Just About Food”
Mahi opened up to Aman Gandhi about how Mary Kom’s behaviour in the kitchen reminded her of childhood experiences that still hurt.
Coming from a lower-middle-class family, Mahi explained that eating out was not exactly an everyday affair for them. On one occasion, when she went out with her relatives to a restaurant, every child was asked what they wanted, except Mahi and her sister. The tiny childhood memory suddenly became the emotional centre of her current frustration because being denied something as simple as being asked can stay with you. It is not necessarily about the restaurant but the feeling of not being considered.

Later in the episode, Mahi said different contestants receive different portions, with some getting “ghee” while others do not. She also raised the distribution of “pakoras” the previous day and described the larger situation as “kitchen politics” Mahi said that she feels ashamed to have food, which feels like a very different territory from simply “not getting enough”.
Food inside the Bigg Boss house is ration, but it is also routine, comfort, entitlement, control, and sometimes dignity. When contestants begin feeling that even eating comes with the anxiety of whether they are receiving their “share”, the kitchen naturally becomes much more than just a kitchen.
Mahi Questions Why Qazi’s Joke Is Becoming A Huge Deal
Mahi also questioned the larger moral policing happening inside the house. During a discussion, she pointed out that several men in the house use abusive language, asking why Qazi’s “lollipop” joke has suddenly become such a massive issue.
Amrapali Dubey and Yung DSA, however, were seen making the distinction that the problem was that the abusive language was not directed at anyone. Mahi further questioned that there are many other issues in the house itself, like “kitchen politics”.

This is where the episode became classic Bigg Boss discourse: “The house was not only arguing about the thing itself anymore. It was arguing about how one issue is bigger than the other”.
Mahi’s point seemed to be less about defending every action and more about questioning why certain behaviours become scandals while others simply become background noise. The house naturally had a plethora of ideas about it.
Mary Kom Says She Never Meant to be Biased
Mary Kom eventually confronted Mahi and explained that there seemed to be a misunderstanding. She maintained that she never intended to be biased against anyone.
She was later seen discussing the situation with Gullu, Rhitu and Kanika, and further, also spoke about how her contribution to food should be appreciated. This is where the kitchen argument became complicated rather than conveniently black-and-white.

Mahi was talking about how the distribution made her feel, while Mary Kom was talking about her intention and contribution; both things can exist at the same time. Someone can genuinely not intend to discriminate, and someone else can genuinely feel excluded by the outcome.
Another Day, Another Task But Make It a Puppet Show
BB 20, Episode 26 also gave the female contestants a chance to command the male contestants and make them do anything. The task was for the men to win contendership for the next captaincy race alongside Mahi and Uditi. The miniatures of each male contestant were put in the garden area. One female contestant was given a chance to dictate any one male contestant in each round and give them orders, with the final order of asking them to remove one miniature, thus removing the person from the race for contendership.

Love got the chance to be the first controller after reaching the final point first. Love chose Qazi to be commanded and asked him to touch the feet of all the women contestants and apologise for everything. Qazi was subsequently asked to remove his own miniature. The second round also gave Love the chance to command. She chose to command Gullu and made him dance further, asking him to remove Aman’s miniature. In her third chance, Love commanded Yung to swim and finally remove Gullu’s miniature.
Arishfa then got the chance to command and ordered Scout to dance while wearing makeup, and everyone was seen supporting Scout. Further, Scout was asked to remove his own miniature. Love got the final chance and made Aman her puppet, following which Aasif’s miniature was removed.

Only Yung DSA’s miniature was left, and thus he joined Uditi and Mahi in the captaincy race.
Yung DSA, Mahi Vij and Uditi Singh Get a Power
After the series of commands and removals, the three – Yung, Mahi, and Uditi were called into the confession room and given a particularly uncomfortable choice.
They had to decide on one name whose life they wanted to take away, and they could even choose someone who had only one life remaining. Mahi initially chose Mary Kom; Uditi chose Rhiti; Yung chose Aman, but then came the switching. Yung changed his choice to Rhiti, and Mahi also changed her choice to Rhiti. The reason given was essentially that Rhiti’s personality is confusing, and suddenly the three were looking at the same person.

But the irritating little cliffhanger is that the episode did not fully reveal whether Rhiti was actually removed from the house, nor did it establish whether the three contestants’ final decision was changed afterwards. So, at the end of Episode 26, Rhiti’s status remains unresolved, though she has chosen to be the one whose life should be taken away by the three contenders, and since she only has a single life remaining, if this decision remains, Rhiti will be evicted.
Bigg Boss Season 20 Episode 26: Food, Fairness And the Things We Carry With Us
Mahi talking about the food became the emotional core of the episode because reality TV loves turning food into entertainment, but behind all of that is something very ordinary and deeply human.

Mahi’s childhood story gave the kitchen conflict a context that went beyond Mary Kom or a portion of ghee. Whether Mary intended any bias or not, Mahi’s experience of the situation was clearly connected to an older wound and thus, “kitchen politics” can become so explosive in a house where everyone is already watching.
Food becomes evidence; portion becomes a statement; pakoras become grievances, and suddenly you are not fighting over food anymore; you are fighting over whether you feel heard and seen.

Meanwhile, the house continues doing what it does best, which is to turn every emotional crisis into another task, another miniature, another elimination and another cliffhanger.
