Episode 8 makes the whole series feel compelling as we get to see passionate music, an unresolved past, tension, and two people who clearly love each other but hate to admit it and want to destroy each other. While we’re not yet given proper details on why Jeong-yo disappeared, this episode unites the boys.

A Performance That Says Everything
A big performance straight-up comes, and that’s the best thing we’ve seen after so long, given Jeong-yo has returned. Jeong-yo stands in an empty orchestra, and the scene cuts to his actual performance, showing his perception and skill. The best part is, Jeong-yo helps Pi-o to lose his anxiety.
Years back, Pi-o pulled Jeong-yo from stage fear and this time, vice versa. Their friendship feels deeper because whatever happened 9 years ago hasn’t destroyed their bond but has only increased their relationship. But sadly, neither of them wishes to admit it.
Jeong-yo’s Revenge Gets Complicated
But what does Jeong-yo truly want? Well, we know the amnesia is an act, and he wants people to believe he’s forgotten everything. He tries to get into the good side of Pi-o’s mother, which seems like a sinister plan. However, his actions don’t seem vengeful, and that’s very confusing.
When Jeong-yo pulls Pi-o out of his musical slump, it feels sincere. He could’ve let Pi-o go through the embarrassment to satisfy his hurt, but he didn’t. He is genuinely invested in helping Jeong-yo. These scenes show that his revenge might be complicated because Pi-o might not be the target.
Pi-o Finally Feels More Vulnerable
Pi-o is no longer shown as the successful pianist of South Korea, but we once again see the teenager Pi-o with unsolved traumas. He seems reluctant to work with Jeong-yo, not because of jealousy, but it’s evident that he feels guilty and he wants to protect Jeong-yo from his rich family, who might again ruin him.
His past is tied to Jeong-yo’s talent, his own success and everything that happened afterwards. This makes him feel terrible about himself, and Pi-o tries to stay away. However, anytime Jeong-yo helps, he can’t help but let himself loose around him.
The Mystery Finally Moves Forward
Pi-o’s mother is the easy target when it comes to the kidnapping, and by the end of the episode, we do see so many points that reveal her connection to the kidnapping. But her reveal feels too intentional, as if she’s the bait behind catching someone else.
There is definitely a twist coming, but for now, she’s our main villain, and we still have answers left to be given.
Final Thoughts
Episode 8 once again brought back the boys together and their strong friendship. Their history with music is brilliantly shown anytime they create something together. Their friendship and their chemistry even after 9 years show that sometimes real bonds can’t be broken, especially when they were built fighting off fear and shame.
Now that the performance is out of the way, the real question is whether Jeong-yo’s revenge will destroy the relationship he clearly still values. Honestly, who even ordered the kidnapping? What happened 9 years ago? Why is Jeong-yo back? We have no idea! But we will soon get it.
