Featuring a star-studded cast, the show promises emotional twists, romance and powerful family drama

This June, Mzansi Magic is bringing viewers a culturally rich and emotionally charged new telenovela, Kwa Baba.
The highly anticipated drama premieres on Monday, 1 June at 19:30 on DStv Channel 161.
Kwa Baba is a powerful exploration of love, tradition and sacrifice. The story follows how far one son is willing to go when love is tested by family expectations, cultural obligations and the weight of the past.
At the centre of the story is Vuyo Biyela, who plays Zwelakhe Mkhize, a young and ambitious businessman on the verge of success and ready to settle down with the woman he loves, played by Rorisang Mohapi-Grootboom.
However, Zwelakhe soon discovers that before he can move forward with his future, he must first deal with a traditional obligation connected to his late father’s unpaid debt.
Living in a world where love alone is not enough, Zwelakhe is forced to confront truths that could either restore or destroy his family, raising the question: how much can one sacrifice for the people they love?
The drama also stars Hlengiwe Lushaba-Madlala as MaMbokazi, Zwelakhe’s respected and faith-driven mother who is determined to protect her family and reputation despite a painful past.
The Motaung family, portrayed as loving and stable, also carries secrets of their own. Mpho J Molepo plays devoted patriarch Solomon Motaung, while Helen Lebepe stars as Dikeledi, a fiercely protective mother shaped by heartbreak.
The telenovela also features a strong supporting cast including Lindani Nkosi, Nkanyiso Mzimela, Kwanele Mthethwa, Sparky Xulu and Phumzile Mlangeni.
Viewers can tune in from Monday, 1 June, airing Monday to Friday at 19:30, for what promises to be one of Mzansi Magic’s biggest winter dramas yet.
