Synopsis
Zhao Minzhi, a daughter whose mother favored sons over daughters, was left only a military medal while her father’s fortune of tens of millions was given entirely to her brother. Expelled from the family home by her brother and sister-in-law, Zhao Minzhi unexpectedly discovered that the medal contained clues left by her father. She learned that the fortune her brother inherited was actually debt, and that her father had long since reserved a fortune of tens of millions for her.
When her brother and sister-in-law tried to entangle her and even sued her, Zhao Minzhi presented evidence in court exposing their forgery of her father’s signature, fraudulent loans, and schemes to cheat him. She ultimately won the case. Six months later, her once-privileged brother took responsibility for supporting their mother, while Zhao Minzhi fulfilled her own filial duties with a heart grown distant, finding solace only in speaking her thoughts to her father’s grave.
